Let there be spring and sunshine.

Hi folks! I hope you all must have had a great February. The onset of spring has as if brought many people, plants and wardrobes to life. Nice splash of icy cool colors is what has swept the thick sweatshirts and jackets in the closet. Its 1stof March today and much are we sure that the amazing weather is going to last for a month more. The best thing about spring is you get to wear cool t-shirts and colorful shirts plus you also have the liberty to carry your layering game on in the late evenings to play Café hopping.

This dear post of mine happened to be shot at my dear Café Coca Cabana at the right time when the café spoke nothing but spring. I wanted to sport a sea blue shirt for my spring post and my joy had no bounds when I saw this blue shirt on  Koovs with tattered detailing. For bottoms I went ahead sporting these light blue denims which complemented the shirt to it's best. For the first look I chose to wear sneakers as they make perfect style statement for your afternoon wears. Plus to give that very edge of spring I chose to wear a white shirt to compliment the sneakers from Vans that am sporting.

For second look I removed the tee off and buttoned the shirt up to the neck and also swapped the sneakers with these amazing brogues from Jack&Jones. This look makes perfect apparel for any evening party in the season from wedding receptions to normal dinner outings with friends.

For both the looks I let the sunnies do the talking and break the entire blue and white color theme and take it to a new spring level with shades of pink.

Till my next post let there be spring and sunshine.

Last Winter Fling

Hello trendroids! Apologies foremost!  I know it’s been ages since I have made a post. But as if these two months have just flown. Trips, outings, lot of OOTDs, career choices, family drama and then you name it. But the good news is that I have landed up as a fashion correspondent for the metro supplements of Times of India, though blogging still remains my first love. It would be needless to say that my fashion game is still on at my workplace and in no time my clothes have started speaking about my personality.

Okay so enough of the business buzz! We are running in the last week of the last winter month and it’s high time to bid adieu to the chilly winters swamping the right energy in our households.

Talking about the styling, I chose to wear this sweatshirt by Elvis Presley for Jack&Jones which was in my to-buy list since the very day the winter collection of the brand was out. Sticking to the color black again for it never fails to create the much needed winter drama. For bottoms I thought of wearing these fawn colored trousers which went perfect with the shades I am sporting and also symbolizes the arrival of spring. For shoes I went ahead sporting these ankle length boots by Roadster with a zipper detailing. Over all I balanced the look by giving two folds to my dear trousers so that both the sweatshirt and the boots as well remain the catch of the dress.

P.S: I sported this look when I had gone to interview Aftabh Shivdasni and Tushar Kapoor and had set eyes ogling. I am getting back soon with a bang!

Until my next post relish the last few rounds of high tea in your balcony on a winter evening. Xoxox

It's raining December

Hey lovelies we are almost running in the mid leg of December and the very fact is sending chills down my spine. Winters are my favorite when it comes to dressing. I mean you get to just wear as much as you want and drape yourselves in layers. Yes you caught my wit right it’s the layer dressing that I would be talking about in this dear post of mine. But all you dandy guys out there before you start digging your closets and boxes for winter clothes learn what layer dressing is all about.
Layering is nothing more than mastering the combining of your clothing so that it functions properly and is aesthetically pleasing to the human kind. It should protect, allow you to move and on top of all should be comfortable. In general layering is a four season look. It lends itself naturally to fall and spring when changing temperatures make it convenient to have pieces you can take on or off throughout the day. But with the right wardrobe pieces and the right materials you can have a layered look all year round if you want. As far as winters are concerned you should keep the basic rule of three layers in mind. A tee shirt or shirt at the base with a bomber jacket or zipper on; for the later you could always opt for v necked sweaters or sweatshirts. The third layer is not a layer but could be a muffler or a scarf.
Have a look at what have I styled for you this winters.

I styled this hooded cardigan which is actually called a shawl Turtle Jacket in all the best possible ways I could. This hooded long cardigan from Nikhil Chinappa for Koovs is everything I desire to go edgy. It’s super rad, comfy, classy and pleasing to the eyes. For the base I chose to wear a plain super comfy white tee from Westside which just let the Turtle Jacket do the talking. For bottoms I chose to wear a simple pair of blue denims and put these ragged slip ons on my feet which completely summed up this look. You could also wear ankle length boots if it’s too chilly outside and you are heading for an evening party. Though, this look completely defines my idea of escapism on a chilly December afternoon.

Till my next post let it rain layers.

Bonjour Bling

Hello people! My blog post had been pending since quite a while and the very fact was upsetting me time and again. Also I had been receiving a lot of criticism from people who simply couldn’t digest my blogging buzz. That was when I thought to shine brighter. I have always been brought up in a way where I was taught to take the criticism in a stride and leave a little sparkle wherever I go. My entire family has always been too happy about the fact that I was born not the ordinary way. Just that little extra on an ordinary day is what makes you extraordinary and this very thought keeps pounding over my head and I wake up, gear up, dressing up each day in a way that will never let anyone dull my sparkle.

Whatever I have been rambling in the introduction will now make sense to you as I will be talking about the bling in fashion this season. Bling was originally a slang word used to describe garish and ostentatious jewelry. It is now an accepted word universally to describe anything that is considered over-the-top, excessive, over adorned, a gaudy copy, or kitschy. Bling has made an avenue round the globe from jewelry, clothing, fashion, shoes, cosmetics, tattoos, art, all that might appear to be glamorous and even furniture and antiques.

Girls do have myriad options in all things blingy from sequin dresses, gaudy tops, shimmer leggings to sparkling pumps. But when we talk about guys we need to stick to the minimal and FIY minimal is the latest vogue hitting the high street couture galleries and making it’s place in the runway. So I thought of dressing minimal yet classy also not losing the essence of bling at the same time. Therefore, I styled this  button down tab collared shirt from Koovs with classic foil print with my ankle fit pair of denims from Youngsters. I wore these distressed slip ons with silver detailing to kindle a spark in my feet. I sported this classy Buddha watch from Myntra with a sliver dial to stick to the outline of the post. Also I chose to wear these aviator spectacles and carried this little apple thing in my hand to add an edge of bling to my look.

This style for me quintessentially defines going minimal with an edge of bling and is just the apt thing to sport for dinner dates and evening parties.

Till my next post, remember there is no problem in life that glitter can’t fix. So when life throws SHIT at you cover it in GLITTER.

Feel the Grunge

Hola people I have been off lately from the blogging world because of my tuition and the study pressure. I had been shuttling regularly from Mhow to Indore and that is where I got all the tan from which you would evidently see in this post. But I thought of using the tan to my advantage and my creativity got me doing a grunge post.
Okay so since the hints have been given enough, fasten up for feeling the grunge this fall. Grunge is essentially a slovenly, sloppy, thoughtless, uncoordinated look, BUT WITH AN EDGE. Iconic items for men and women are ripped and faded jeans, flannel shirts layered over dirty T-shirts with outdated logos, and combat style boots is what being grungy is all about. Grunge is a low budget thing and therefore DIY (Do It Yourself) plays a very fashionable role in going grungy.
Talking about my personal styling for this particular look keeping the tan in mind I went sporting myself as a Nigga and thought of wearing all shades muddy. Now keeping the shades of mud in mind I wore this tool kit printed shirt because nothing else could have made me look even grungier. For bottoms I chose to wear my DIY distressed denim shorts for that very feel of being grungy. For shoes nothing like wearing boots would have done and also that makes me feel a lot muddy. For accessories I sported this sling bag which I was just about to send for vacuum cleaning but the greasy patches on the bag did all the more wonders in completing the look. The sutli thing in place of a belt works right for making me sloppier. The baggier accessories in the hands just increased the entire feel of GRUNGE.
Shirt- Youngsters, near Aopollo Square; Bag- Myntra (Srota); Boat Shoes- Myntra (Knotty Derby)

Tips from the post:

1.Going grungy is just the apt thing for fall. Also I feel fall is meant for all things fashionably crazy.
2.Greasy hair is a must while sporting a grungy look.
3.DIY should be your go to right away to feel that vibe of being dirty yet stylish.
4.Before sending your bags and greasy pants for a dry or vacuum clean just thing twice if you could go grungy once.
5.Boots or boat shoes are a must have for this look.
6.Ill fitted clothes would do the best in such types of styling.
7.Give your look a crazy feel and go bold as I went using this sutli thing as my belt.

Till my next post feel the grunge .
