Bonjour Bling

Hello people! My blog post had been pending since quite a while and the very fact was upsetting me time and again. Also I had been receiving a lot of criticism from people who simply couldn’t digest my blogging buzz. That was when I thought to shine brighter. I have always been brought up in a way where I was taught to take the criticism in a stride and leave a little sparkle wherever I go. My entire family has always been too happy about the fact that I was born not the ordinary way. Just that little extra on an ordinary day is what makes you extraordinary and this very thought keeps pounding over my head and I wake up, gear up, dressing up each day in a way that will never let anyone dull my sparkle.

Whatever I have been rambling in the introduction will now make sense to you as I will be talking about the bling in fashion this season. Bling was originally a slang word used to describe garish and ostentatious jewelry. It is now an accepted word universally to describe anything that is considered over-the-top, excessive, over adorned, a gaudy copy, or kitschy. Bling has made an avenue round the globe from jewelry, clothing, fashion, shoes, cosmetics, tattoos, art, all that might appear to be glamorous and even furniture and antiques.

Girls do have myriad options in all things blingy from sequin dresses, gaudy tops, shimmer leggings to sparkling pumps. But when we talk about guys we need to stick to the minimal and FIY minimal is the latest vogue hitting the high street couture galleries and making it’s place in the runway. So I thought of dressing minimal yet classy also not losing the essence of bling at the same time. Therefore, I styled this  button down tab collared shirt from Koovs with classic foil print with my ankle fit pair of denims from Youngsters. I wore these distressed slip ons with silver detailing to kindle a spark in my feet. I sported this classy Buddha watch from Myntra with a sliver dial to stick to the outline of the post. Also I chose to wear these aviator spectacles and carried this little apple thing in my hand to add an edge of bling to my look.

This style for me quintessentially defines going minimal with an edge of bling and is just the apt thing to sport for dinner dates and evening parties.

Till my next post, remember there is no problem in life that glitter can’t fix. So when life throws SHIT at you cover it in GLITTER.
